TOPIK: how the exam is built
TOPIK (Test of Proficiency in Korean) is the official Korean language test run by the Korean government. Scores are used for university admission, the GKS scholarship, visas and jobs.

TOPIK I is scored out of 200, TOPIK II out of 300. Results are valid for 2 years.
How you take it
On paper (PBT)
Several times a year at test centres worldwide. Answers marked with a black marker.
On computer (IBT)
Some centres run it on computers; the structure is similar, listening through headphones.
Registration
Only on the official site (topik.go.kr) or through the official organiser in your country. Check the dates every year.
How to prepare
- Start with timed past papers — you will know your level
- Learn each question type separately: signal words, strategy, trap
- For 쓰기, learn the structure of questions 51–54, then write against the clock
- Words and grammar every day — a little, but without breaks
